Terms of Service

By using Clare, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before getting started.

1. Introduction

Welcome to Clare. By creating an account or using our platform, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Clare is operated by Clare AI, based in The Netherlands.

2. What Clare is (and is not)

Clare is an AI-powered communication support tool designed to help two people better understand each other through structured, neutral dialogue.

Clare is not:

  • A medical or mental health service
  • A replacement for therapy or counselling
  • A legal service or source of legal advice
  • An emergency or crisis support tool

Clare does not diagnose, treat, or resolve conflicts on your behalf. It helps improve communication; outcomes depend on the willingness and engagement of the participants.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Clare.

Clare is intended for relationships between equals, such as partners, friends, family members, colleagues, or housemates. It is not suitable for situations involving strong power imbalances.

4. The process

The Clare process typically includes:

  • An individual intake conversation with each participant
  • Analysis of both perspectives by the AI
  • Follow-up sessions and reflections
  • Optional exercises between sessions
  • A concluding session when appropriate

There is no fixed number of sessions. As long as meaningful progress is being made, the process may continue.

5. Payments and refunds

The standard price for a full communication process is €6.80 per person (or €13.60 total), unless stated otherwise.

If Clare determines during the intake phase that the service is not appropriate, for example due to signs of abuse or unsafe dynamics, the payment will be refunded in full.

If such issues emerge later in the process, refunds are not automatic and are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

6. Service limitations and termination

Clare relies on constructive participation. If one or both users repeatedly refuse to engage, ignore feedback, or prevent progress, we reserve the right to terminate the service. This is done to avoid unproductive cycles and unnecessary use of system resources.

7. Safety and inappropriate use

Clare cannot support situations involving abuse, coercion, control, or severe power imbalance. If such dynamics are detected, the service may be paused or terminated, and we may recommend seeking appropriate offline professional support.

8. User responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide information honestly and respectfully
  • Use the service in good faith
  • Not misuse Clare to manipulate, harass, or pressure another person

9. Data and privacy

Your use of Clare is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the service, you consent to the processing of your data as described there.

10. Limitation of liability

Clare is provided on an "as is" basis. While we aim to be helpful and reliable, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes. To the extent permitted by law, Clare AI is not liable for decisions, actions, or outcomes resulting from the use of the service.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes means you accept the updated terms.
